Interior harness connector guide
During my build I've had the interior harness out to easily modify. I figured this may help some of you.
The harness is from a 1990 TBI Camaro.
The zoomable (is that a word??) picture can be found here:

Code:
1 C100 2 Brake light switch Is really 2 switch's in 1 housing. 1 NO switch for the brake lights. 1 NC switch for disabling cruise control. 3 Cruise control disable/TCC switch Interrupts power to the TCC through C100 when the brake pedal is pressed and disables cruise control by cutting off vacuum 4 Airbag Deleted in this harness 5 Headlight switch 6 Fog light switch 7 Drivers side front speaker Duh 8 Drivers side Grey dash connector. All gauge wires are here 9 Passenger side Brown Dash connector Connector is blocking the number, sorry. 10 Rear defroster switch 11 ?? Orange is getting power from 20A Accessory fuse, pink wire is going to the radio connectors (28) 12 Light but what for?? ??? 13 Passenger front speaker Duh 14 C207 15 Passenger door dome light switch Goes to GND when door is opened 16 Cruise control connector (male) Mates to #49. It's wires come from the cruise control buttons on the turn signal stalk. Cars without cruise may still have this but not #49. 17 Clutch neutral safety switch Wired in series after the starter relay. Must be closed to start the car. 18 Power windows/locks connector (male) Connects to #47 to power the window motors and locks 19 High beams connector Connectors on the column to the high beam switch 20 Ignition switch Connectors on the column to the ignition switch. This provides ignition switched power and Starter power to the entire vehicle 21 Flasher Will need to be upgraded if using LED tail lights 22 OBD1/ALDL Will need to be upgraded to OBD2 23 Column connections Contains things like turn signals, horn, hazards, cruise 24 Cigarette lighter 25 Convenience center Provides audible warnings, hazards flasher, horn relay, and headlight motor fuses (firebird) 26 HVAC controls power Provides power the HVAC controls (not the blower motor) to a separate harness that connects to the HVAC controls 27 Gear shifter Contains 6 wires. 2 large gauge wires are neutral safety (same wires as #17 so car can't start if it's not in park or neutral with an automatic trans. Next 2 are backup lights (run to reverse light switch on manual trans, last go to ECM) 28 Radio Power and speakers 29 VATS Receives resistor input from contacts in ignition lock cylinder on purple/white and white/black wires. Short the 2 with correct resistor to bypass vats. Black/yellow wire must be grounded to activate the starter relay. 30 Airbags Deleted in this harness 31 VSS buffer Receives VSS directly from the transmission, then sends VSS to the ECM, Cruise, and Speedo 32 Drivers side dome light switch Goes to GND when door is opened 33 Starter relay Input is from ignition switch, output goes through #27 and #17. One of those needs to be shorted to start. Black/yellow must be grounded to start too. 34 Fuse panel 35 GND 36 Brake pedal cruise disable switch. Connects to the back of #2 and cuts power to cruise control when brake pedal is depressed. 37 Cruise control output to cruise servo This connects to a small harness that runs through a firewall grommet to the cruise servo 38 GND? Runs to Convenience center. Not sure what for yet. 39 Tail light harness connector This connects to the tail light harness and provides power for brake lights, running lights, turn signals, power for the hatch pulldown motor ect….. 40 Hatch release relay Provides momentary power to the hatch release. 41 Parking brake GND Illuminates BRAKE warning light when parking brake is engaged 42 Hatch release switch connectors One side goes to the hatch release relay (#40) the other to the parking brake GND (#41) so that the hatch can only be opened when the parking brake is set. 43 Drivers side rear speaker Duh 44 Defroster connection to hatch glass 45 Fuel pump/fuel level sender connector Connector is rivited to the body behind the rear seats 46 Door lock/unlock dual relay Dual relay for locking and unlocking the doors. 47 Power windows/power locks connector (female) Connects to #18 to power the window motors and locks 48 Map lights on rearview mirror 49 Cruise control (female) Mates to #16 then sends cruise control signals to #50 50 Cruise control module connector Connects to the stock cruise control module. 51 Window switches 52 GND

Re: Interior harness connector guide
I think you need to wrap the code tag around it
Nice writeup btw, too.
Code:
to preserve the spacing .

Re: Interior harness connector guide
Any time you see a yellow connector, yellow tag, yellow wrap around the wiring, etc there's a good chance it's related to the airbag system. The other thing is the ECM would be attached to the engine harness, not the interior harness.
A guide like this is nice, but also somewhat limited. There are enough inconsistencies between an 87 and a 92, or a TPI, a carb, or a TBI car, that unless the person using the reference photos has a car that is very similar, there will likely be differences that can confuse.

Drew is correct , I have replaced every wiring harness on a couple of different pre 1990 (pre airbag) third gens and that module along with all the yellow covered stuff does not exist on them . Most recently my 1989 bird had me into the dash to that level and you will see the ECM is far larger than that module is (ECM is the big silver box on the passenger's floor) .... Trending Topics

Hi Jermon , if your car is a third gen Camaro or Firebird , and the pink wire shorted resulting in no cranking from the starter , the most likely suspect will be that one of the fusible links leading from the big terminal on the starter has fried (gone open circuit) and needs to be replaced . Of course you'll have to make sure the pink wire isn't shorted anymore before you replace the burned fusible link .
