Hello everyone,

I am New to the form and this is my first post! I am a troubled owner of a 91 z28 with the 5.7L TPI V8. I have a rather pesky problem that I been dealing with on and off for the better part of 3 years with this car. crank no start.

When I got the car it was a gift, the catch was it didn't run and I needed to fix it. back then if I turned the key to start nothing would happen but if I jumped the VATS starter relay and sprayed starter fluid into the engine it would run until it burned off the starter fluid and die. I was guessing vats was the culprit so I sent it to the mechanic.

Around 2 years later I get it back (Yup that nightmare was a story on its own but I'll leave that to another post if anyone is interested.) Runs like crap so I replaced all the injectors. That fixed it right up! ran perfectly at this point but on and off I had crank no start issues and this leads me to this Issue.

Last year the car stalled on me while I was at a red light like as if I turned the key off. It sat there crank no start... Some one helped me push it to a near by parking lot where it started right up! WTH so I drove about 100ft and the engine shut off again as if I turned the key and wouldn't start back up.. so I get a tow tuck driver to come aaaand it starts right up... OK the tow truck driver said he'll follow me back to my house just in case it stalls which is perfect because it leads to a very key moment which might help with whats going on. As I was leaving the parking lot there was a small dip. As soon as I hit that the car surged for less than a second like I flipped the key to off and then flipped it back to run before the engine completely stopped and it stayed running (no restart required) then the last time I saw the camaro run was just a little farther down the road it stalled and would not start.

I't was towed back to my house and it has sat in the same spot for around 6 months. I want to get it running for summer! Some things to note If I spay starter fluid into the engine it will run. I had a new vats key made because I noticed the SECURITY light would come on sometimes while cranking (I know its not supposed to crank if the light is on but I think those mechanics bypassed that part.) now the light doesn't come on anymore but still no start. the fuel pump will prime if I put the key to on, It has spark because it will run on starter fluid So I know its a fuel delivery problem but the fuel injectors are only a year old.
