Low beam switch help on 87 IROC

Hey guys...me again...so on my light switch ALL the lights work at some point while pulling the switch. The running lights and side lights work, and the high beams work...so basically all 4 of the top lights come on, and the DIMMER works to dim or brighten the lights on the console. So my question is...when I pull out the handle for the lights all the way I can feel as though it engages and the high beams come on...and the same for the running lights...but I dont seem to have that break or stop shall we say in the middle for the low beams...anyone got any ideas on that...honestly...I want to say its the switch...ALL the other exterior lights on the car work btw. Thanks guys!

What is a break or stop in the middle for the low beams? Never heard of it. I can't understand what you are doing to try and work your lights. Please explain

When I pull the lever to the left of the steering column if I pull all the way out the high beams come on...if you twist it to the left or right it dims the console lights on the dash cluster (tack speedo, etc)...and when I pull it out slightly the running lights come one...http://restorationpartssource.com/st...FZcjgQodFiUDgA try this link...is a pic of what I am talking about thanks!

Make sure your car is the same as mine...you have a newer model, your light switch may be different...

Pulling the turn signal stalk alternates from low to high beams. The headlight switch has off - park - headlights.

Then your light switch is working exactly as it should. There is nothing wrong with it. As Drew stated, it's the turn signal stalk pulled back to actuate that switch down the column that switches from hi to low beams. When you pull that back can you feel it clicking?
And no, mine works exactly like yours

Don't feel bad lol. For the longest time every car I owned you pulled back on the turn signal stalk and it would cycle through the low/high sequence. Bought a new GM pickup and pulled back on the signal stalk and all it did was flash the high beams. Thought it was broke, but that was the year GM switched to pushing the stalk forward is what made the high beams stay on. I was informed of this by the service manager at my local dealership... who knows me... really, really well. He laughed at me and told me I should have known better.
