Need pinout of engine harness to firewall plug for 1983!
Pulled the V6 out of my 1983 Firebird and putting in a V8. Cutting the harness down to only the few wires I need to make everything work. Unfortunately, someone else hacked up the harness and made a mess of it.
Hoping someone has the firewall plug (C100?) pinout for the earlier cars. I can only find the later pinouts which were different.
Thanks!

There are four wires that are cut.
In this pic, I believe the right tan is oil pressure and the right green is coolant temp.
What is the left green and tan/white stripe?

Thanks for the link! Unfortunately it appears the Crossfire pinout is totally different. I'd need like, two pages before that one in that book!
For example, the tan/white that I need to identify is E4; which shows as 'not used' on the Crossfire. So close!

Just noticed this too... why doesn't that pinout have an oil pressure wire?

Tan is oil pressure SU.
The RH green is temp SU.
Tan/white is "low vacuum switch". Has something to do with A/C: probably a "motor struggle cutoff".
The LH green has to do with wipers. It's not obvious what its actual function is: it just goes to a small blank box inside the larger box that represents the motor assy.

Thanks sofa. I figured the tan and green were as such, thanks for the confirmation.
I don't have AC, so guess I don't need that wire.
As for the wipers... that's odd. I have four wires going to the wiper assy; all are still attached to this C100 plug. Where else might wiper wires go in the bay?

That wire just goes to the wiper motor, according to the schematic. Nowhere else.
Cars in those years are notorious for variations in their wiper motors though. The 83 SM was printed in summer of 82, might not AT ALL cover all possible variations that were introduced over the course of the model year. (speaking strictly from experience... my 83 SM DOES NOT cover even the least tiniest slightest minutest detail of the L69 for example, which of course is the car I have ) The wire you have might be for the intermittent option but you don't have that, or some such.

Don't think the Crossfire diagram is correct for the 83 F-Body in the link posted on 06/10 ...... looks more like an 84-87 engine harness to me. The RED power distribution wire was @ G4 in 82 & 83, but moved to G5 in 84.
Here is the C100 schematic from the 82 Camaro; It doesn't show the Firebird headlight info, but the other engine bay wiring should be similar to your 83 Aaron.
P.S.
Pretty sure the Crossfire Oil Pressure Wire runs thru C207.

Hmm, C6 might be for the intermittent wiper option that I don't have. I like that explanation haha
Figures about the SM... I just ordered the 83.
Here's a scan from the 83 Firebird SM on the 2.8 page. Note how the orientation of the plug isn't even correct... it's backwards. Line up where the screw is & the arms for the headlight harness plug on the C100 are both pointing right. (rolls eyes)

Unless I'm reading it wrong and it's supposed to be a mirror image? Lines up if you reverse the diagram.
