starter "clicks" but no start
Hi everyone after sitting for a while, when I'd go to start my car it would turn over very slowly like the battery was dead. After awhile that turned into just rapid clicks coming from the starter. I replaced the starter and cleaned the battery posts and everything i could find, but even with the new starter I still just get clicks. However if I jump the starter with a screwdriver it works fine. Any help would be awesome!
p.s. the car is a 90 Rs with a 305 tbi and 5-speed

Check to see what your voltage is on s terminal when cranking since you can jump it between other terminals. Assuming that's the limiting voltage you can next look at the ign switch and clutch safety switch voltages when cranking

Re: starter "clicks" but no start
I ended up installing a secondary relay in my '91. easy peasy, no more problems with low voltage on the purple wire..

Re: starter "clicks" but no start
From the ign switch iirc power runs through park neutral switch to the starter enable relay. The issue might be at the switch or relay.
