Starting problems

When I turn the key the car starts to fire but when I let go of the key it stalls. Any ideas? 91 3.1

Sounds like a mis adjusted or faulty ignition switch

Is there a way to test it to find out it is bad?

Hooking up a vom to the ign wire would show if its hot. The switch is kinda hard to access without dropping the column.
It should be similar to this
