Backup camera...needmonitor ideas.

I have a 1987 Trans Am GTA. I want a back up camera (just got so used to them in modern cars and lets face it....these 3rd gens are tough to see out the back. Plus where I park mine I need to back it in within 2" of my garage and already hit the garage door twice. LOL.

Anyway I want to keep the interior as stock looking as possible so I don't want some big screen stuck to the window and I already have a nice head unit so I don't want to change that.

I know I could get a new rear view mirror with the monitor built in...I did that to my Avalanche years ago.

But this was my idea....pop out these useless number wheels and install a small monitor. But it needs to be 2" by 3.5" (or close).

The camera itself is a breeze, I was going to do a round flush mount right under the trunk hatch key hole.

Tennis ball hung by string. Back up until it hits the rear window.

Great idea thanks I'll get a couple cans of tennis ***** and a spool of string and a roof rack for the GTA for a ladder and put a hanging tennis ball at all the normal places I go and back in.

BTW..I was just being funny....I was a few beers in when I typed that. I know the tennis ball idea (and the 2x4 on the floor) works but last time I did the tennis ball on the string I ended up tearing it down because I kept walking into it. The 2x4 I would trip over and end up picking it up and smashing something.

Re: Backup camera...needmonitor ideas.

Back up cam done. Actually it's a "rear view" camera because I have it so it stays on. I may change that so it comes on only in reverse if it annoys me at night.

The edge of the bumper is just out of sight on the bottom of the camera screen.
