Issues with relays and such
So technically the actual issue I'm having belongs in the cooling section.. BUT I actually need some assistance with the wiring portion of the problem.
Issue is that the radiator fan won't turn on. Originally what happened is the metal piece below the fan had gotten bent, while driving the fan tried to kick on but it was stuck so the motor was shot. Replaced the fan motor and fired it up, but now the fan still isn't coming on. Tested the fan with a direct battery connection (with fuse) and it works fine so I know the fan motor is good. Maybe a relay is bad? I checked through a few posts and one of the issues was a relay went bad. I went under the hood and there are 3 relays compared to the 2 that everyone else was seeing.
Is there something I could get for the relays? I always only see 2 relays instead of 3 in these threads and it's confusing..
Also, I though about wiring up a manual switch for the fan so it doesn't get so hot. Anybody else doing the same or does that just sound like a dumb idea?

Re: Issues with relays and such
You'll want to find the fan relay, and then figure out which pin/wire switches the relay on. Then you can ground or jump to 12V+ and see if the fan comes on. That will test the relay, wiring, and fan motor. Beyond that, the fan isnt set to come on until 220-230* so make sure you're waiting long enough before you get too excited.

Thanks Drew!
Should I just trace the lines to find which relay is which? I've got 3 up there and have no idea what they do lol

And by all means DO NOT hack a toggle switch into it ! Fix it right , because I promise you there WILL be the day you forget to flip the switch and then how bad will you feel knowing you roasted your engine because you didn't fix it right ?
