Ignition problem?
Ignition problem?
Just bought another 84 camaro 305 it's all there bought a new battery for it everything light wise and stuff works went to crank and got nothing no clicking cranking or anything guy said it had a problem where it would start with 14 volts but not the normal amount how to I fix/bypass this/troubleshoot ? Thanks

Car Is Not Cranky . . . . SO I AM !!!!!!
Make sure the starter is well grounded, then use a voltmeter or test light to probe the wire going to the solenoid power input.
Make the wire long enuff to bring into the cockpit.
Now, when you try to crank, but there is no click, is there power?
If yes, the solenoid is bad.

mine did this at one point intermentantly, I eventually broke down and changed the lock switch and keys. Went years without a problem until recently. Does the security light come on?
