headlight/foglight sticky?

im surprised that there isn't a headlight sticky for firebirds. the pop up headlights are kind of sketchy to change. im sure there are 100 ways to do it and of those there has to be one that's easiest.

Re: headlight/foglight sticky?

it wasn't the motor I was trying to replace it was the actual sealed beam headlight. turns out its pretty simple.
1) pop up the headlights and unplug the motor and turn the lights off.
2) remove the plastic surround by removing the 4 torque head screws.
3) remove the tension spring on the lower inner corner of the housing. this will allow you to move the light around freely and easily reach all of the screws.
4) the light is held in with 4 phillips head screws 2 upper , 2 lower ,and 2 adjuster screws. remove the 2 upper and lower screws ( dont mess with the adjusters or you will have to adjust your headlights when your done) and the headlight will come out and you can reach the plug behind
5) plug in the new light and reverse order.

Re: headlight/foglight sticky?

The bottom bezel screw holes are slotted. Only need to loosen the lower screws, remove the uppers, and the bezel will slide out of the way.

No reason to remove a bunch of parts to service the headlight assemblies/motors either. Two bolts on the top of the radiator support, two more under the front of the car, and the entire headlight assembly comes right out.

that is correct drew. I pulled mine all the way out because it felt easier but either way works.
