Just put a new battery in and the last two times I have started it up, the high beams have been on and won't turn off and both the dash turn arrows are lit. After a couple of minutes at most, everything seems to return to normal. Weird! Any suggestions??

 

Sounds like a turn/hazard switch is farting out.

 

Have you replaced any bulb up front with an LED bulb or changed the flasher recently?

 

No- I've had LEDs in the dash for years, but no other bulbs have been changed. I think it is my column: my high beam lever does nothing and to turn the high beams on normally, I have to use the tilt function on the steering wheel! Time for a column rebuild. The tasks just never end...

 

If the turn lever isn't actuating the high beams it might just need adjusted. It's just a metal rod with a bolt (phillips?) at the base of the column that can be adjusted.
