What is this connector behind my dash?

Hi guys, I disassembled my dash today and I found a connector without any switch on it... just found it next to the defrost switch. What is that for? Car is my 88 GTA bone stock. Thanks for your help!

I think that's what it is. Wiring for the optional subwoofer.

Re: What is this connector behind my dash?

Thanks guys... but wasn't the UQ7 discontinuedin 88 model year? Wasn't it avail until 87? Where might the harness run to and why is it even there? I just changed out the rear speakers and there where some shitty Sony installed by the PO, so I don't know if the car ever had UQ7... too bad I don't have the SPID, some dumbass ripped it off years ago. Want to kick that guys ***...

I found this on the GTA source site.It looks like the 88 models had the option.
"GM changed radio harnesses for 1989 and also incorporated rear shoulder seat belts into the Firebirds; in order to maximize room for the new belts and their additional hardware, the UQ7 option was dropped."

Correct, still available in '88. My '88 T/A has RPO UQ7.
