My heater fan and windshield wipers are cutting in and out. the heater seems to cut out more often when the fan is on high, the windshield wipers seem to cut out more when the heater fan is on high also. I dont know what the problem is. they both seem to run fine when the engine is off and only running on the battery, but as soon as i start the car they cut in and out again every 20 seconds or so. I have resently replaced the altenator hoping it would help this problem but it didn't. Please help.

 

Sounds like a loose connection. If you can explain it a little more maybe I could help you pin point the area to check. How long does the stop working for? A few seconds?

 

the time that it cuts out for varies everytime. Ususally 5 / 10 seconds. It also seems to cut out alot more when idling, then when accelerating or at speed. Also when decellerating it cuts out alot. Its more anoying than anything being that i dont usually use the heater alot. But still i have to fix it or it will drive me nuts.

 

I had a problem like that after the motor swap. I missed the ground wire for the heater at the back of the block.

 

Gmanuel, where is the ground conected to the motor? I am sure i can figure it out but its easier if you can tell me. It could be my problem since this is the first time i have used my heater since i replaced the head gaskets on my motor. I may have missed the ground also. Thanx.
