Temp gauge issues
Hey everybody I have an 86 z28 with a temp gauge issue. I’ve searched here and haven’t really found my problem. I’ve replaced the temp sender two time with yet the same problem. Turn key on temp gauge moves up right below 100, staring the car temp gauge needs shakes, car running temp gauge pins back almost straight down.. help please and thank you.

Temper Tantrum
Here’s how to test the temperature gage.
Disconnect the green wire from the temp sensor.
Clip in a 100 ohm resistor from that wire to the negative battery terminal.
Turn the key to RUN.
If the gage is good it will read about 220°.
Normally when starting, the gage should peg at max however that might not be related to problem.
