1982 Trans Am headlight problem
I just bought my 82 TA last week. I have a problem with the headlights (surprise!). The passenger side does not raise when the lights are turned on. The motor doesn't run at all. If I manually crank it up and then turn the headlights off the motors run both of the headlights down just as they should. I purchased another relay suspecting that was the problem. When I removed the old relay I found that it had a small hole burned in it. The plug on that side (motor side) was also burned. I replaced the plug with another one but the motor still will not run on the on (up) position. It still will run on the off (down) position though. Driver's side works exactly as it should.
Any thoughts?

Re: 1982 Trans Am headlight problem
I just replaced both relays because I had an issue where both lights wouldn't go up.
There is one more relay near the battery, its the isolation relay, and that one controls the other two relays.
The troubleshooting info in the shop manual had me thinking the isolation relay was bad because the yellow and black wire were shorted.
Instead I replaced both relays at the lights and it all worked again.
Replace the other headlight relay and see if that works.
Amazon or Rockauto have the relays'
