Carb swap wiring

Has anyone used a solenoid rather than a harness for a carb swap? If so would you recommend it? It seems the be the easiest way and I know a couple people that have done it and told me it’s much easier to make it not look like a rats nest of wires. Any info on methods of wiring would be awesome!

Would you please be able to elucidate or illustrate for us exactly what you mean to some greater extent than "use a solenoid rather than a harness"?

Are you asking about using a solenoid/ relay as a switch to power something?

Are you just worried about determining what wires can be removed when a non-computer controlled (non-electronic) carburetor is being used instead of a computer controlled carburetor/ electronic fuel injection???
If so... What year and model vehicle do you have... What fuel system will you be removing from the vehicle... and what make and model carburetor are you installing.

There is a substantial amount of wiring and components that can be removed along with the ECM... Should that be the route you are taking with a good-ole Carb.

Give us some information that we can work with and attempt to help you in some way or another...
