Ignition problems
My ignition control module just went out for the 5th time in the past year. The car starts but likes to shut off when I come to a stop but it always goes back to normal when I install the new ICM and I think I'm installing it correctly, putting the cooling stuff underneath it too. I am starting to wonder if my Ignition Coil may be the problem that's causing my ICM to fry like a bucket of chicken every month. I bought a new one and I'm going to install it tomorrow but do you think there could be any other problems? And also connecting the ICM, there are two pins on the module itself labeled P and N which I assume are positive and Negative but I wasn't paying attention when I took the wires off so I don't know which is positive or negative. I think one wire is white and the other is green but I may be mistaken/ don't even know if which way I plug it in even matters. I own a 1989 RS with a 305 V8 TBI and an automatic transmission.
