So went from 305 tbi to 350 carb and I left the harness in place just incase and taped up few connectors. Wondering what circuit in the harness could be causing the draw.? What did you guys do to the harness when u swapped?

Did this problem arise after all the modifications you've done, or was it there before, when the vehicle was stock?
Is the vehicle's computer still in use?

Re: Battery keeps draining. Parasitic draw.
I picked up the car with a busted transmission and the motor running like crap and backfiring. Problem started after the swap. It was sitting maybe a month or two before I started the swap and I would start it every now and then and it would start right up so battery wasn't being drained. The ecu is in the car but not sure if it's being used. I still bypassed the vats, not sure if the ecu controls that or I think it has it's separate unit right? I really didn't do my research on what to do with harness or ecu. I am using the harness such as starter s wire and the alternator plug, I am also getting 12v to my dizzy off the pink ignition wire. I replaced the alternator with another stock unit for a 92 for the TBI. Do I need a different alt? Can I remove the harness and ecu.

Start with a parasitic draw test
http://www.nissantechnicianinfo.mobi...20%20milliamps.
It says nissan but it's the same for everything.
if you have the DVOM on the negetive cable and the negetive post DO NOT PUT LOAD ON A CIRCUIT. That includes opening the door/ turning the key on/ opening the hatch turning the radio or hvac on. You WILL overload the DVOM and ruin in. I say un plug the door striker switch (little button on fender towards the front of the car) so you can open the door as you please once you have the reading start pulling fuses. The drop in amps will tell you the affected circuit and lead you in the right direction. If you have and aftermarket accessories un plug them prior to testing. Its possible the the vats is your problem and the ecm is always sending power to through the starter relay to the vats bypass and always ready to start. If you unplug the ecm and harness it's possible that you will loose your VVS and speedo.
