Fan wiring view...

Hello,

I am a bit too aware that the PO of my vehicle had a little fun with the wiring of some things. Unfortunately one of these things was the fans.

The fans both turn on as soon as you put the car into the on position. I hate this, I know that by the battery, there are two orange wires that go into a single brown... But I am not sure where they were supposed to go.

I am looking to get into programming, and I would like to be able to have full control over all the functions of my car as it should be.

Could someone give me some tips on what I should look out for to have my fans properly work?

These cars have alot of fan problems and they run hot. The main fan dosen't turn on till around 210 and the secondary(if it has one) wont come on till around 230. You may not like it rn but they are probably keeping your car from overheating. We need more info to help. Is your camaro or firebird a V8 or v6 ,tpi or tbi, single or dual fans. https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/atta...ooling-fan.pdf this will help you out alot. It sounds like the previous owner tried the fans to (hopefully) a fused keyd power. Check for some weird looking wires in your fuse box. Pictures are always way more helpful then words. There are tons of posts on these fans with helpful info on this site.

Hello, thanks for the reply! It's a 305 Camaro with dual fans.

Here is the only "mess" I can see from above...

I also noticed this wire is exposed, by the passenger firewall.

Not sure what it goes to or if it's causing any issues.

Thanks for any advice...

Ideally I'd like to replace the thermostat and have these come on when they're supposed to.

Gonna be getting the ostrich after the 4th...
