Using a remote washer pump with 82-83 wiper setup
The pump in my wiper motor is shot. How can I wire in the later remote/tank mounted pump to the factory wiring & switch? I don't want to add any switches. Anyone done this that could add some insight?

Re: Using a remote washer pump with 82-83 wiper setup
It's very easy. I did the same thing to my 83 after the POS spoopy thing on the wiper motor got ED for about the 3rd or 4th time and flaked and wouldn't PE anymore.
I got a totally generic $7 pump at AZ or some such; mounted it near the bottle; cut the hose from the bottle to the pump and hooked it to the new pump; plugged the input hose and the output hose at the wiper pump together with like a vacuum tee or a piece of tubing or something; and hooked the wires that went to the 2-terminal plug on the motor, to the replacement one instead. It squirted as long as I held the switch on the stalk.
It took me longer to write this than the entire installation, except for the mounting. Seems like the screw was rusty and took like 30 seconds to get it out. I don't think the whole rest of the job took 30 seconds.

So awesome it's that easy! I have the 83 FSM so I should be able to figure out which of the wires are the two I need. Thanks!
