Reverse light not working
1989 Camaro Rs manual 5 speed
Reverse light does not come on when the car is in reverse. I have already disconnected the plug on the transmission, and connected a wire in the end plug to bypass it and then when I turn the ignition on, the reverse lights come on (Which means the wiring and bulbs are all good). So then I tested the plug in the transmission by using a multimedia and testing the continuity. When the car is not in reverse, and the multimedia connected in the plug, there is no beep. As soon as I put the car in reverse it starts beeping (So the plug works). This is confusing me as this proves both the wiring and the actual switch work.
So if anyone has any idea on what else could be the problem, it would be very much appreciated.

Sounds like there is a bad connection between the connectors.
You probably checked for corrosion, dirt, etc.
There are options depending on the type of connectors.
1:— Conductive compound.
2:— Bend the pins.
3:— Coat the male pins with solder to increase the diameter.
