whats this wire for?

Im pulling out my interior out of my Iroc and when I pulled off the trim going over the rear passenger wheel area this was underneath not plugged into anything. Any info on what its meant for?

Looks like the ground to the rear defroster. I believe it plugs into the rear shock/strut above it (should have a built-in blade on it.

Well after pulling off the driver side trim that side is also unplugged, My hood and hatch struts were fairly new when i bought the car so could it be that when they were replaced the PO didnt put the clips for the ground back on or something I'd imagine right? Anyone got pics of what it should look like?

They probably replaced the rears with the wrong type of struts. They should have the connection built into them. If you don't see them, they are probably wrong. Search for some pictures and look for this wire going to the struts and you will see what I'm talking about. You can search for the correct rear struts on an auto parts site too, to see the picture of the strut with the connection.

Ok thanks I will, Sucks Ive had the car 10 years and never really noticed anything amiss because i never drive it in bad weather.
