I recently designed some Trans Am fog lights.
They have 4000K LEDS.
I designed a grid overlay to direct the beams downwards so oncoming traffic doesn't get blinded.
They are significantly brighter than the stock Fog Lights.
The lenses are acrylic and will not shatter from rocks.
They are $120.00 CAD for a pair, which is roughly $100.00 USD
But for these, I don't have fog lights, so for those who do, how will these mount? They look like the same size and shape as the glass lenses on the factory fog lights, so will these replace the glass lenses and attach to the front of the factory fog light housings, just like the glass lenses do?
Also curious about the 4000K temp. Is that so the color of the light will closely resemble the color of the halogen headlights, because most people still use sealed beams? It's true that people do like such things to match, so people with LED and HID headlights, which are probably in the 5000K-6000K range, would probably want to match them, too. But I've also noticed that yellow has become popular again, and a lot of LED/HID people are going with 3000K, instead of a matching color. Not likely that they'd want the dingy appearance of 4000K, so will you offer these in other temps, if requested?
Would these fit the '91-92 Firebird fog light mounts? I second what LAFireboyd said. I'd prefer mine to match or be close to it. My headlights are 5500K LEDs.
Yes, I've been quite busy haha. I'm attempting to build up a full time business with my design work =)
You are correct, the fog lights simply bolt up to the factory fog light brackets.
I chose the 4000K color temperature because it's a nice "middle of the road" temperature. I try not to have too many variations of products while I'm just starting to grow the business because most people are happy with the middle of the road option. If I notice that a significant percentage of people are requesting similar alternative color temperatures, I will re-design the circuit and order the updated version =)
I don't believe these will directly fit the 91-92 fog lamp mounts. They are very similar but I'd need to get my hands on the measurements of the 91-92 fog lights so I can adjust the design to match. I would be more than happy to create a 91-92 version. I seem to be getting quite a few requests for them.
I will be ordering a new round of fog lamp circuits, shortly. I may be able to ramp up the color temperature for that order.
