Kill switch off of the anti theft starter relay , would that be any good?

Hey so my 91 Camaro the starter anti theft relay under the driver's side kick panel is going out , instead of replacing it was thinking of using a on and off switch kill switch to hide it somewhere , would this be effective? I was reading about other ways for a kill switch but I'm not the best at reading wiring diagrams and don't want to cut the wrong wires . Would this be a good kill switch location ?

You are asking a very "loaded" question here, opinions about kill switches are kinda like opinions of what oil to use or even the ol Chevy VS Ford thing itself, people will practically fight to the death over which is best. Now, since you asked, MY opinion would be to get and install the new relay, keeping your factory VATS system functional, and forget about adding extra failure points to the system. VATS is plenty good enough to keep it from being driven off by the average knuckle dragger who'd put a slide hammer to the ignition, and if a "professional" car thief wants your car he's gonna roll up with a flatbed and be gone in about 20 seconds without setting a foot into the car, no matter how many kill switches ya got.

Now, aren't ya glad you asked?.......

I basically did that when i got rid of the old eng/trans/ecm set up. The vats module is gone, but the relay/wiring to it is there, with the low side of the relay wired to a micro switch.

One of my very simple "Kill-Switch/ Theft-Deterrent" modifications, is for cars that no longer use the Cruise-Control.

Using the Cruise-Switch on the Stalk in either ON or Resume, and with the Brake-Pedal Switch together through a Relay for the Ignition to turn on during Cranking ONLY.
But keeping the Ignition circuit on with the Key ON (just not during cranking without the Brake Pedal and Cruise Switch ON).

Haha I get where your coming from , flat bed could be tricky in my work lot but maybe I'll get one of those tracking devices hide it in the car.

Hmm thanks for your reply but I built the car as a daily driver and cruise control will need to stay once I get the correct tpi cruise linkage.

But yeah I'm glad I asked, I'm smelling me some sarcasm there but it's all good , everyone has an opinion and I'll take everyone's opinions and ideas and figure out what works best for me like I said I might do what you say and go a different direction and get a hidden tracker and a glock and some pre dug 6 feet holes 😂
