Sometimes she starts on first turn of key sometimes takes several tries with just "clicks" of the starter til it wakes up....Checked all wiring from battery to starter, battery to block, added ground from starter to chassis, replaced starter, car has been doing this on and offf again for awhile now...thought I had it licked with the additional ground from starter to chassis, went several months then started acting up again. No rhyme nor reason VERY intermittent at when it does it and doesn't. Gettin ready to buy new battery, and new cables from battery out to block and starter, but can't find a positive with fusible link already installed nor even the fusible link. Anyone have p/n or source. I'm overseas at a US Air Base in Tokyo, buy everything thru summit and/or RockAuto. Thanks in advance for any assistance, troubleshooting advice you can provide.
If you are hearing the Starter Motor Solenoid click, when you turn the Ignition Lock-Cylinder to the Crank-Position...
but the Starter Motor does not crank...
Most likely the issue is with the Starter Motor (Armature dead-spot).
I would verify this by measuring the Battery Voltage during cranking... or the lack there of.
If the Voltage is approximately the same when the Starter Motor cranks vs does not crank...
the issue is most likely the Starter Motor.
Note: be careful not to run down the Battery Voltage from frequently trying to start the Engine over and over.
Charge the Battery as needed.
Anyone have a schematic/wiring diagram for 90 model starter system...specifically looking for battery to starter and fusible links (gauge/rating). wanting to replace everything from battery to starter and in between. THANKS

Spent the afternoon in, over, and under Marilyn chasin wires, changing starters, solenoids, breaking solenoids and am still no closer to figuring out what her problem is. While battery Positive and Negative checked "good" did get a few intermittent readings on meter so want to buy new cables just to say I changed them. I'm feeling the intermittent start/clicking issue I'm getting is a grounding issue.... somewhere...maybe even at engine to chassis....even though got somewhat good readings of negative cable when off the car once connected they got erratic. Fixin to buy a new starter as the "new" AC Delco **** on me and after an attempt to swap the solenoid to the old OG starter I ****ed it up...the brush/contact inside fell out of place and got bent while tightening it all down.to the starter base. ..so back to the OG starter and solenod. The car did start several times after all was put back together but I'm not satisfied at the fix as NOTHING was "fixed". In searching for Positive side I am not finding anything that resembles stock....has anyone found one or did y'all just splice in....ON THAT NOTE....what is spliced/connected to the positive lead (orange/red wires two prong plug) other than the alternator (see pic) as well as the fuse....what's it's purpose? Any recommendations on starters? Lookin at RockAuto as they've been my GO TO for parts, price wise and shipping to APO (mil PO Box). but also got a bud over in Hawaii right now and may be able to get him to bring me one in his luggage. THANKS

The fuse is the "Inline fuse" that protects your ECM and fuel pump......
THANKS for the link to schematics. Not sure what I did but it's been functioning as designed past two days....Pretty sure it's wiring to the starter/solenoid...just not sure where. but could be the solenoid itself and me opening it up to swap with new one then reinstalling when I broke the new one may have knocked some dust rust debris loose. Gonna take it as a win and continue looking and researching it.
