Trunk latch makes loud whirring noise
So I've just noticed that when I have my battery connected and I open my trunk with the key it'll make a loud whirring sound while open and when it shuts it keeps making the sound. The only way to stop it is by unplugging it or disconnecting the battery.

That means that the switch on it is bad, and it has also likely stripped the plastic gears (or broken the plastic housing, or both) .
