Trunk latch makes loud whirring noise

So I've just noticed that when I have my battery connected and I open my trunk with the key it'll make a loud whirring sound while open and when it shuts it keeps making the sound. The only way to stop it is by unplugging it or disconnecting the battery.

That means that the switch on it is bad, and it has also likely stripped the plastic gears (or broken the plastic housing, or both) . Thankfully TGO sponsor Lon Salgren of "Top Down Solutions" sells replacement parts for them and is the guy you want to get in touch with (A search of "Top Down Solutions" will lead you to him) ......
