open ari element making noise. help!

hey guys. i just installed an open air element on my 90 bird and now it is making a hissing noise all the time. Yes, i plugged the unused vaccuum line. It sounds like it's coming directly from the throttle body. what is it and how can i stop it because it makes the car sound like s**t! thanx

If the sound is coming from the IAC port, that sound comes with the installation. Stick your finger in there and see if the sound goes away (the car will bog for a second if you leave your finger in there too long). BTW that's the small, fingersized triangular port near the back of the TB; I don't advocate sticking your finger into places you aren't familiar with. If the still noise bothers you, you can always go with the HO dual snorkle setup and keep the silencer effect the factory setup offers.

well i do not think it is the iac, well atleast all the time,i am pretty sure when you are cruising around the iac sould not be open at all resulting in no noise comming from it, but on cold starts when your idle is at 1500 rpm that is the iac and it is letting air in and makes a lot of noise, more than likely what you are hearing when your driving inless you need to ajust somthing is your injectors

i took the sealer (i dont know what its called it run along the back of the hood to keep sound and heat in and to keep rain from coming in) and it made it even louder but now the engines sound comes out and sounds sweet
