I have an 87 camaro. It has a pulldown unit for the hatch, but the previous owner gutted the wiring from the center counsel to the pull down and gutted the wiring in the back. He then screwed the unit in the down position.
I have a new pulldown unit, and have looked at many wiring diagrams and am getting blurred vision trying to read them.
Basically I need a simple hand drawn diagram on what I need to wire the puldown. I know I need a hatch release switch with relay and harness for up at the counsel. from there, I need a simple diagram hooking it up to the pulldown and power.

from there, it is rebuilding a 5.7 liter and swapping out the v6 that is in the car with the v8. I have the computer and wiring harness from the care it cam out of.

 

If the PO stripped all of the associated wiring it may be worth looking for someone parting out a car that still has all of the wiring and relays.
