Hi there,
My headlight motor module for my 1991 Firebird Formula works, but after a day, the relay inside the module starts clicking, and eventually drains my battery. I suspect there is a problem with the internal relay, and maybe someone can fix it.
Does anyone know someone who does this kind of work?
This is the module I am talking about:
I thought I had a bookmark to a thread where a guy replaced the relay on the board and gave the part number. Tried to find it but no luck yet. I swear I have the bookmark stashed away though and will look again for you.
In the interim, the C5 Corvette headlight module might be same p/n for your car and it's easy to find. I do have one in my '89 Firebird, but not entirely sure if your '91 headlight module is same?
I have two wiring diagrams here from Austin Third Gen. The first showing the 1989 wiring, which has a white wire that gets power when the headlight switch is in the off position. The second is the 1991 wiring showing that the white wire has been eliminated and replaced with a brown wire that gets power whenever the parking lights are on. With this difference, I must conclude that the 1989 (and thus the C5 unit that QwkTrip used in his 1989) are electrically different from the 1991.
