Hey.
I want to remove my valve cover but there is very little room to move.I was wondering if I could unscrew the charge post on my alternator as it prevents me from lifting it straight up. I just don't know if there is anything on the inside that I would damage preventing me from screwing it back in later.
I've always been able to get the valve cover out without doing anything to the alternator. It can be wiggled out. The runners and wiring for injectors tend to hold it up more than that post. I wouldn't take anything off the alternator...well just because. If anything, take the alternator off. It's not a lot to do and it doesn't risk harming it.
