cluster swap issue

Someone I know has a 92 RS where his speedo was the only thing that wasn't working on the gauges. He wanted a replacement cluster so I sold him my cluster pulled from a 92 RS that worked 15 years ago when I last tested, but he claims only the tach works on it now when he installed it.

Its been at least that long since I have messed with anything thirdgen related, hoping someone can give me some pointers to try to diagnose his issue.

I'd be willing to bet he's got crappy connections on the in dash connectors the cluster plugs into ......

I will tell him that. This leads me to my next question.

I don't have my car anymore to test it. Is there anyone in the FL panhandle that could take this cluster and plug it in to verify?

He should look up some UTube videos on how to clean the contacts both in the dash and in the cluster. If he does it wrong he could eff it up worse, which is why I suggest he search for a tutorial.

And I'm quite far away from FLA, and have a Firebird VS a Camaro, so I can't be of any help with your testing....
