Help with stock head unit

Hi all,

hoping someone here can help. I have a 91 GTA and looking to replace my stock head unit for another stockish unit. I’ve found one from an Oldsmobile, I believe. The main connection at the back is the same, however this other unit seems to have an additional, small connector. I think this might be for the steering wheel controls. Does anyone know if this unit would work in my car (except for steering controls since I don’t have them)? I’ve attached a pic of the back of the potential unit - the area in green is the same as my original unit, the red one is what I don’t have.

If it will work, do I need to be concerned with unlocking the new unit? The radio doesn’t seem to say “Delco Loc” anywhere on the front.

Thanks

Re: Help with stock head unit

Yes. The other small connector is for steering wheel controls. I replaced the radio in my Vert and went from an AM/FM/Cassette/EQ without steering wheel controls to an AM/FM/CD/EQ with steering wheel controls that I didn't use, and it worked perfectly.
After all these years, I doubt it's still locked, and even on the outside chance that it is, there are you tube videos that show you how to unlock it.
