1991 camaro dead gauges
I have a 1991 camaro RS 305 TBI. Just like the title says my gauges are dead. My tach is pinned at max 100% of the time even when the car is off, it doesn't even move when I start the car. My spedo works, my gas gauge APPEARS to work, although I have no idea how accurate it is, same with the temp gauge. All the other gauges are also dead, they don't move when you start the car. Anyways I can't stand it, I got the gauges out and I honestly have not much idea what I'm looking at. The wiring harness leading to the gauges seems fine. I ordered a new flexy circuit board that goes on the back because mine looked slightly burned but something tells me that won't work. I'm kinda lost here, I understand wiring but I know nothing about printed circuit boads. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. All of the other threads seems to be about gauges that work but don't read right, not just completely dead.

Check your grounds first. Search "diagram_1992_gauges" on the following page to see what all the wires are doing: https://austinthirdgen.org/thirdgen-...ck-background/

Re: 1991 camaro dead gauges
A "printed circuit board" is just wires flattened to foil and stuck to a surface. Same exact thing as wires. No mystery there. Not sure what's not to understand.
Probably not a "ground", since all the gauges, as well as the dash lights, get their ground from the flex PC board. Which is not to say, "don't check grounds"; only, that measured against my signature, it's not likely to be the cause of the problem.
A little history & background might help. Have they EVER worked that you know of? did they all die at the same time? what other work has been done on the car around the same time they died? what else (if anything) doesn't work? etc.
