Speedometer,Odo/Tach Help?

Looking for a little bit of assistance of any kind would be kindly appreciated. I recently purchased a 1991 Z28 that was originally a tpi (now has a carbed 383) and my speedometer odometer and tachometer dont seem to function, The tachometer does move it jumps up to about 2k rpm when starting the car then drops back to 0 i believe its just not wired up to the ignition coil as the only wire running from the coil is a yellow wire spliced into a red wire leading to the c100 and from what i gathered on pinouts the red wires are ignition related. My first question would be can i just simply run a wire from the coil and splice it into the white wire at the c100 and get that working? My 2nd and last question is what could be wrong with my speedometer and odometer, I was told when i purchased the car that they did work at one time and then just randomly didnt one day, no jiggling or cleaning of the connectors behind the cluster has worked. Ive read on here several times that it could be the circuit boards upon inspection of those they look to be in way too good of shape to be the issue (maybe im wrong) i have also read that another likely cause for them too cease working is my speed sensor as i dont have a buffer. What has me perplexed though is the car still drives and shifts just fine and ive tried several times to use the obd1 port to check if it had any code for the speed sensor…oddly enough my check engine light wont even come on for anything so im kinda at a loss right now with what to do moving forward so if anyone who actually reads this all could kindly point me in any direction it would be kindly appreciated. Have a nice day for those of you who made it to the end of this!!
