Newbie needing help with MAF wiring and intro?

Hello Gents,

I have a wiring mess to deal with and need some help. A little bit about my 3rd Gen motor swapped Pickup.

I recently purchased a 1972 Chevy C10 with big Mickey Thompson tires on the rear. I believe it has a 305 TPI motor swapped into it. I can't verify because I can't see anything in the Bellhousing area clearly yet. There was a boat fuel tank/fuel cell, driveshaft, and dual dumped exhaust in the bed. The dashboard from the Camaro Z28 was also swapped into the truck. Some things are connected and working like (lights, turn signals) but things like the tach are not. Wiring is a bit of a mess. Some things are hooked up from the swap and some of the wiring is just bundled together as if to keep it out of the way. The pickup has the Borg Warner Posi-rear end from the Camaro also.

So "Frankenstein" got a name and all of this brought me here. I have been reading everything I can. I found a faded VIN on a sticky note in the cab that points me to a 86 Camaro. The computer in the car has the "165" service number suffix and when I looked that up and the code inside the computer (AFKR) it pointed me to a Firebird LB9 5.0, from 1988. The engine seems to run well although I haven't driven the truck anywhere. It doesn't want to shut off with the key. It'll shut off once I disconnect the battery though so I've been reading about dieseling. All of this is confusing, but the main source of my confusion is the MAF hookup. The previous owner has done some sort of cutting and splicing to the MAF connector. There are No O2 sensors or anything in the headers or anywhere in the exhaust.
The wiring has me stumped because even if I replaced the MAF with a new one the connector wiring is hacked, I also would need to get an O2 bung welded in the header. I also wonder if the PO has done anything to the computer to get the engine to run without the O2 stuff?? I tried to post a picture of the wiring from the MAF. I hope it shows up.

Any help is appreciated.
