wiring up maf

I have a concern on my car. I bought it from a member on here and he deleted all the wiring for the MAF but now im wanting to intall the maf but im not sure how it would be wired up. Would i have to wire it like stock from a 4th gen?

Re: wiring up maf

I would start at the pcm..see if the maf wiring was de-pinned first and run new wires to the maf.Trying to find wires cut off in the original harness can be a pain. Then have the pcm tuned for maf again.

Re: wiring up maf

What PCM do you have, and which MAF do you want to run? If you don't have anything as of now, may be a good time to be a 5wire truck MAF.

Re: wiring up maf

On three wire MAF for 99-02 Fbody PCM:

Black wire-ground
Pink wire-ign 12v
Yellow- red plug, pin31 on PCM

Also required is air Intake temp sensor:
Tan-red plug, pin 25
Purple-red plug pin 57 on PCM.

If you are interested in using the larger 85mm 5 wire truck MAF, a separate IAT sensor is not needed, as its incorporated into the MAF. I have a hand drawn diagram on wiring up the truck MAF to a ls1 Fbody PCM if you'd like, but its basically matching the IAT and MAF colors from the ls1 sensors to the truck MAF.

Re: wiring up maf

Oh ok so to point out my doubts and questions
the black wire i put it on any ground
the pink wire to a ign 12 v
and the yellow one to my pcm on the 31 pin that is all that is neeeded to wire it up?
i thought i needed to put it to a relay or something since i looked at the diagram of it and it says to a fuse so that had me confused

Re: wiring up maf

It's a good idea to hook the pink wire through a fused ign 12v source, but not manditory.

is this the same for a 98 pcm ? I am having problems with the maf, I already change it 3 times and none of them worked, so I figured out that maybe the wiring has a failure so I’m looking to a diagram or something to connect directly the maf to the pcm
