Engine: 305 TBI
Transmission: 700R4
1988 700R4 speed sensor
I have an 88 TBI with a 700R4 behind it and the speedometer quit working. i get no signal out of the speed sensor while driving and I'm sure that's the issue. I cant find a single one for sale anywhere, its the type with the connector in the middle, and i haven't taken it apart but it should have a gear inside the tail shaft housing. Does anyone know of a way to convert it to a different type of sensor so i can still have the speedometer and torque converter lockup? I have seen kits that would convert a cable to an electrical signal but i am not sure what PPM i would need. everything ive seen is listed in PPR.

What's your rear end gear ratio ???
I *might* have a factory electric speed sensor that will work. There are different versions depending on the speedo gears that need to be used. This pic shows the speedo gear tooth count the sending unit will work with:
