C100 bulkhead connector HELP

Axle/Gears: 3:73 / 3.42
C100 bulkhead connector HELP

I've taken connectors like this apart many times through the years. Just loosen out the little bolt and the connector pulls off. WELL........that little bolt seems to just be spinning inside of the other half!!! I can pry with some pressure and the bolt gets a bit tighter but still just spins and I can't get the wiring connector apart. Anybody else hyad to deal with this and how did you get it apart?

puts some pressure on the connector pulling back as you unscrew it

Like I said.......I did that and still just spins the inside.

I guess if nobody else has any ideas I might have to remove the under dash hush panels and see if I can get at it with some vise grips or something.

Thats what i was gonna suggest. You should be able to grab the nut on the other side. It fits into a hexagon that holds it inplace. So it may be stripped now.

if you remove the 2 studs/ nuts that hold it to the firewall you should be able to pull the whole section of the plug out or in to have better access

Unfortunately the Connector Half that is attached to the Fire-Wall, does not use a Traditional "Nut".

It uses a Threaded-Insert with a Toothed-Flange to keep the Insert from spinning...
So there is really not much of anything to grab on to with Pliers.

The Only thing that I could think of, is to push a small Punch against the bottom of the Bolt (through the Hole of the Threaded Insert)...
As well as Unscrew the Bolt at the same time.

I'll get up under the dash this weekend. Tried the other night and I felt like I was being stabbed by needles in the side I was leaning on. Damn!!!!! ANTS in the floorboard! So I sprayed em all dead I hope.

Ok, removing the 2 small nuts that hold the connector to the firewall is a NO-GO..... First, one of THOSE spun. I was able to get some needle nose vise grips on the stud and get the nude off........only to find out the whole thing WILL NOT fit through the hole to pull it inside!!

I came up with a new plan. If you use a small carbide on the Dremel you can clearance the right side of the connector.....right where I'm pointing. Left side is ok. That makes just enough room to get the needle nose vise grips in on that T-nut and hold it. YAY, SUCCESS!!
