Hey all! Havent posted in awhile however i could definitely use some help with this as im pretty much lost! The problem im having is with my 91 z28, every single time i turn my key it will either be a single click from the starter and no crank or it will be power to everything but nothing from the starter, once in awhile it will start up on the first attempt but lately its gotten worse to the point i have to click the key 2-3 times for it to start cranking. Ive already replaced the battery along with the positive and negative cables, the starter and all the fusible links to it. yesterday i actually replaced the ignition switch aswell hoping that was the issue however it was not. If anyone can point me in any sorta direction as to anything i havent done or maybe if theres a part of the ignition system that can cause this im not aware of then please let me know!

Reason: Spelling error 🤦♂️
That sounds like a similar issue to what I have.
On my 1992, the neutral safety switch is going out.
So sometimes it just starts right up, other times turn the key and the lights come on but no starter.
Below in the lower right you can see it in the wiring diagram.
This switch is mounted to the shifter itself in the console seen here as item 8.
I was able to adjust mine and it started fine for a few times and then gave the no start again.
Here is the information from the Haynes book on how to find and replace the switch.
It seems the 1992 version of this switch is difficult to find a new one for some reason.
I have elected to simply wire in a momentary switch on the dash that will bypass the NSS and start the car.
Perhaps the solenoid on the starter needs replacing. I'd go in that direction if the "click" is coming from the starter and not from a relay somewhere inside the vehicle.
Thank you very much for that! I have in fact not done one bit of checking/altering with the neutral safety switch so i know for certain its the original one thats never been replaced just like everything else in the car! Ill be checking that in just a few little bit here but just to remedy a fix for a little bit till i replace it, how did you adjust it? Is there connectors that can be cleaned or is it as simple as tightening it up somehow?
I just loosened the two screws a turn or two and pushed it towards the front of the car a tiny bit until it started cranking again.
Then I tightened the screws again.
It is has worked so far.....
