1988 alternator wire for S marked slot goes to ??

1988 alternator wire for S marked slot goes to ??
The red wire off the alternator marked by a (S) I assume it goes to starter solenoid but does it go on the small terminal or large one with battery cable?
Previous owner had it cut and taped up going no place

Red wires in a GM vehicle are battery. It goes to the same terminal (large stud) w the battery cable.

The dashed line in the schematic means both wires are attach to the same terminal, which in this example is to the starter B+ terminal (where large battery cable attaches).
