Engine: sbc 350
Transmission: 700r4 shift kit and stall
Alternator ?

What do the brown and black wire do on the alternator plug I need to kno because the harness has been tore out of the car And I'm trying to wire it in

Brown to the field (F or 1) terminal, and black/red to sense (S or 2).

Field terminal goes to 12V via the idiot light if you have one, or resistance wire if you don't.

Sense goes straight to batt 12V.

Yep - starter post or battery. Use heavier cable for the alt output.

He meant a thicker cable. To carry the high current from the alternator to the system.
