89 TA Tail Lights into 91 TA Vert
As the title says, that is my intent. My 91 TA tail lights are badly delaminated and they're going to take some time to repair.
I bought a perfect pair of 89 TA tail lights with the center section and want to install them temporarily, but it may take a while to repair the others....so ill say semi-permanently.
can I buy a "ready-to-go harness," and if not, what step by step changes do i need to make?
Thanks!!!

Re: 89 TA Tail Lights into 91 TA Vert
It'll depend on how accurately you want the 85-90 taillights to perform.
If the socket for the 91-92 outer signal will plug into the outer hole of the 85-90 tails, and I suspect it will, then you wouldn't have to make any changes to the harness, and they'll function like 91-92 tails, where the middle and inner lights on each side illuminate with brake and tail functions, and the outer lights only illuminate when flashing as turn signals. In that case, since all lenses will be red now, if you have amber bulbs in the outer sockets, then change them to clear (or red) to match the other four bulbs.
But if you want them to function like 85-90 taillights, where all three on each side illuminate with brake and tail functions, the connector in the rear of the car for the 91-92 TA harness probably differs from the rear connector for the 85-90 TA harness (the standard Firebird harnesses differ), which means there would be no plug-n-play solution, and you'll have to change the entire harness from the steering column to the taillights, which wouldn't be worth the effort for a "temporary" situation, IMO.
So, again, it depends how accurately you want the 85-90 taillights to perform.
