Purple and Yellow connector under dash?

I have a connector behind the fuse box with a big purple and yellow wire and I can’t see a spot where it would go. I read one thread that said if the car had a manual in it before then it would be for that but I’m 99% sure my car was a factory automatic. Could anyone tell me where this goes?

Re: Purple and Yellow connector under dash?

Cars are equipped with the wiring for both the auto and the manual versions of that, so that the harness can be used in either situation.

The corresponding plug for an auto trans is in the console and plugs onto the shifter.
