Wiper switch replacement

My 1985 Firebird Trans Am needs a replacement windshield wiper / washer switch, as it broke on the inside while trying to replace the lever. I do NOT have a Tilt steering wheel. Can anyone suggest where I can find a replacement for this switch, which controls 2 speed wiper, intermitent wiper, and windshield washer? Have looked everywhere but can't find.
Thanks.

Looks like RockAuto has it https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...er+switch,4856
It's been about 35 years since I replaced one, however I seem to recall pulling a string in as you pull the old one out and then using the string to pull the new one in. If not, you have to take the column apart.

I just did mine and did exactly this. The lever litterally just pulls out from its socket on the column, pull on the wire some to find out where it is plugged in under the dash and do like rmacaluso said with a string.

Re: Wiper switch replacement

which controls 2 speed wiper, intermitent wiper,
Be sure that you buy the correct switch to match your Wiper Assembly; there is one switch made for HIGH/LOW wipers and 1 for switch made for INTERMITTENT ( AKA "delay" ) Wipers.

The wire on the stalk is for cruise control models only. He didnt mention C.C, so he may not need to worry about that. The stalk in the link is the first one on the list (w/out cc, w/delay), if so.

Re: Wiper switch replacement

I think it's the actual switch inside the column,..... If that's the case than :

@Rickpr49 : Be Sure to look at your current Blinker Switch plug at the base of the column so that it's a match for the replacement that you buy, Also be sure to check the colors of the wires attached to it as well. I know that changed over the years and were pretty dependent on the options that were supported.

I think the compatibility =

82-83 ( probably 1 for standard wipers and 1 for Delay )
84-89 ( probably 1 for standard wipers and 1 for Delay )
90-92 ( probably 1 for standard wipers and 1 for Delay )
Digital Firebird ( think this was only Delay )
Berlinetta

Thanks for the reply, but that wiper switch is for a car with Tilt steering column, which mine does not have. I have a NON- Tilt, standard column/ steering wheel.
