No crank no start
No crank no start
Just put the battery back in my 85 sport coupe trying to get it back on the road for the summer. I tried starting in and it wouldn’t even turn over. The car ran fine before the battery came out for the winter. I checked for voltage and there is power going into the ignition switch but there doesn’t seem like there is voltage to the wires going to the neutral safety switch. Basically I’m just looking to see if I’m on the right track or if I am missing something

Re: No crank no start
Is there power out of the ignition switch? Crank fuse good? Just to confirm a mouse didn't eat a wire or something. As I recall, there's no starter enable relay or anything like a vats car would have. I think the fusable links are all before the ign switch but I'd check them all anyway

Definitely do a check for any mouse damage... not sure how the winter was in your neck of the woods, but the unusually low temps this year had a ton of mice seeking shelter in our cars here in VA. I'd never seen a mouse in a car in the 11 years I've been on this coast, and then for about a month, they were everywhere.... thankfully they only got to a little bit of my hood insulation, but they chewed up the radio wires in my dad's truck bad.
