Alternator connection

Hi, connection question, I just purchased a new alternator for my 88' 305. From Rockauto all the pictures were the same of the battery connector on the rear with it being a ring style. Mine have a post on the back so figured it would come with a bolt to make the new connection but it did not. Is this something I just have to source or is this alternator the wrong one?

Re: Alternator connection

I won't say it's the "wrong" one, but it's not right for the application. I don't even remember the CS130 ever having that style of battery connection in any GM application.

My hunch says that the manufacturer simply had an oversight.

Re: Alternator connection

Looks like a CS130 Alternator Voltage Regulator with the incorrect Charging Post installed...

Should be able to have that Charging Post changed to the typical style we normally see!
