oh boy-this will be real fun for you if indeed you need the location so you can remove the little beaut. it is located between the firewall (interior side) and the front of the air distribution box where it is screwed to the ducting with screws running back into the box.left to right in the car is like -if an average person just sat in the pass.seat approximately where hisher left foot would rest on the floor straight up from there is about where it is.by pulling the dashpad off you get to see (only see) it maybe touch it with your fingertips to get it out takes some dashboard fastner removal till you can pull it rearward enough to get to the screws and the friendly elec.connector. it also says pass-key on it but doubt that you will see that till its in your hand. gm definitely didnt want crooks getting at it to bypass easily-if you have to r and r it you have my condolences-take it easy.:hail:

Good luck! I had to drop down my entire dash to get mine out!!
Seems hard at first--until you do it--just make sure you drop the steering column--makes it much easier--plus you won't scratch your steering wheel. All you do is remove the 4 bolts that hold the column up. Good luck!!:hail:
