engine starting problems...help

hey guys. i'm having trouble getting my 90 bird to start. i know the starter is good, so i figure it's an electrical problem. here's my dillema: i turn the key, nothing. no click from the solenoid. i know it's good b/c i took it off the car and tested it. how likely is it that one of those pesky fuseable links has gone? or could it be in the ignition switch, distributor, coil, etc...? if i run a hard wire from the starter to the pos. battery terminal, it will turn over but when it's removed, the engine dies. anything would be helpful. thanx

I doubt its the terminal becouse you will usually get a click if there is any contact. I'm thinking the wire that leads from the starter to the fue box might come off. That's what happened to me once...no click, no radio, nothing. If you're not getting a click than there is NO power getting to your starter which rules out ignition failure (becouse starter would still turn). I don't know much about inject'd cars since I run carb, which is simpler to deal with than computer controlled cars. I'm just shouting things out sorry I'm not much of a help.
