i have an 89 rs the column was peeled i just got the column rebuilt today but it still wont start i have an alarm on (cas500) im not sure if it factory or not but i took it off and know i dont know if it needs to be put back on the car in order to start it or not. If any body can help me out i would appreciate, also if anybody can tell were to look for a wiring diagram of this alarm please do so

I think in '89 they started using VATS, a system that has a little tag on the end of the key that let's it start. Since my car is an '84 and doesen't have this I can't help you there but many other people here probobly can. Are you getting a click or anything? I'm assuming nothing. The car can start w/o the alarm assuming it's been diconneced properly and I don't think the alarm is stock. I'm sorry I'm not much of help but your best guess is the VATS, IMO.
