General Wiring questions

I have the power wire for my amp and a wire for my fan both hooked up directly to the battery. Now, I also plan on installing Fog lights. Two wires is enough on the battery. Now I know there is a 'right' way to wire the fan and the fog lights in. Such that they aren't directly connected to the battery and maybe even run on a fuse!

I would think it would be ok as long as you have a fuseable link. Or try hooking it up the the fuse box. Just some thoughts

You could run a single wire with inline fuse off the battery and then wire the "new" accessories to that. Remember they will be hot all the time now straight off the battery. Other option is to splice into an ignition controlled wire in the fuse box and run off of that. May have to increase the fuse amperage from say 15 to 20 or 30. Definitely use an inline fuse on your accessories.

You could try one of the remote power terminals like GM installs on trucks (my S10 Blazer has one) just tacking the wires to the battery terminal is cheezy to say the least
